THE March 19, 2023 the famous argues in Milan Stramilanothe running race that has been taking place in the Lombard capital since 1972. As tradition dictates, the Competitive Stramilanoreserved for professional athletes, over the distance of the half-marathon (21.0975 km), the race uncompetitiveopen to amateur sportsmen, over the distance of 10 km, and the Stramilanin on a 5 km journey. As all the competitions take place in the city center, on Sunday March 19, the municipal administration has set up the blocking traffic for Stramilano 2023with viability changes that will remain in effect until the end of the race.
STRAMILANO 2023 TRAFFIC BLOCKING: HOW IT WORKS
Some inconveniences are therefore to be expected for those who usually use the car when traveling in Milan. On Sunday March 19, 2023, most streets in the historic center will be closed to traffic to allow the execution of Stramilano and it will therefore be necessary to find alternative solutions, bearing in mind, among other things, that traffic blockage it will also concern surface public transport. (see dedicated paragraph). The stop will be active from the very early hours of the morning (the first race, that of 10 km, starts at 9:00 a.m.) and it will continue at least until 13/14 or even beyond. It should be noted that from the point of view of mobility, Sunday March 19 will be a somewhat difficult day for all of Lombardy due to the Trenord strike. In the following paragraph, find the routes of the three races of the Stramilano 2023 with the roads which, therefore, will be closed to car traffic.

STRAMILANO 2023: METRO CLOSED AND BUSES DIVERTED
In conjunction with the Stramilano 2023from around 7:30 a.m. until the end of the race, the M1 and M3 metro trains they will skip the Duomo stop. To change lines, ATM recommends using the Centrale, Loreto or Cadorna stops. While to reach Piazza Duomo you will have to get off at the nearby stations of Cordusio, San Babila, Montenapoleone or Missori.
Below is the list of diverted trams and buses:
- Trams 1. From 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. In both directions, it deviates between Repubblica and Certosa. Go through Monte Santo, via Rosales, Garibaldi, Monumentale, Cenisio and piazza Firenze. It does not go through corso Sempione, via V. Monti, Cadorna, Cairoli, the Duomo, Montenapoleone and Turati.
- Trams 2. From 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. There is no service between Colombo/Cantore and Cenisio. Between Negrelli and Colombo/Cantore it is in service as usual.
- Trams 10. From 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. It operates between Lunigiana-Farini/Ferrari and 24 Maggio-Baracca. It does not go through Conciliazione, Quinto Alpini, Corso Sempione, Procaccini and Monumentale.
- Trams 12. From 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Avoid stops between Piazza 5 Giornate and Cenisio. It operates on the Roserio-Cenisio and Molise-5 Giornate sections.
- Trams 14. From 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Avoid stops between Cantore and Cenisio. It operates on the Lorenteggio-Cantore (Porta Genova M2) and Cimitero Maggiore-Cenisio sections.
- Trams 15. From 7:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. Does not run on the Duomo-Giambologna section. It operates between Rozzano and Giambologna.
- Trams 16. From 7 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Avoid stops between Baracca and Monte Velino. Between San Siro Stadio and Piazzale Baracca there is service as usual.
- Tram 19. From 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. In both directions, divert and skip the stops between via Bixio and Mac Mahon/Artieri. Go through Cenisio, Monumentale, via Ferrari, viale Don Sturzo, via Rosales, Garibaldi, viale Monte Grappa, viale Monte Santo, Repubblica, viale Vittorio Veneto, Porta Venezia and viale Piave.
- Tramway 24. From 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. There is no service between Ripamonti/Sabotino and Piazza Fontana. Between Vigentino and Ripamonti/Sabotino it is in service as usual.
- Tramway 27. From 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. Does not run on section 5 Giornate-Fontana. It operates between Hungary and 5 Giornate.
- Bus 43. From 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. In both directions it deviates between Gioia M2 and Corso Sempione. Go through Garibaldi, Monumentale and via Procaccini.
- Bus 48. From 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. In the direction of Lotto, it deviates from piazza Firenze to via Silva. Cross viale Teodorico and viale Scarampo.
- Bus 50. From 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. It operates between Lorenteggio and piazzale Aquileia. It does not go through Conciliazione, Cadorna and Cairoli.
- Bus 54. From 7:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. It circulates between Lambrate-p.za Risorgimento and Duomo-corso Monforte. It does not pass through corso Concordia and piazza del Tricolore.
- Bus 57. From 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. It operates between Quarto Oggiaro and Largo Medici. It does not go through Legnano, Lanza and Cairoli.
- Bus 58. From 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. It operates between Baggio and Aquileia. It does not go through Porta Vercellina, Sant’Ambrogio and Cadorna.
- Bus 60. From 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. It operates between Zara and Corso 22 Marzo. It does not go through Porta Vittoria and Largo Augusto.
- Bus 61. From 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. It works between piazza Napoli-piazza Piemonte (Wagner M1) and between piazza Murani-piazza Risorgimento. There is no service between piazza Risorgimento and piazza Piemonte.
- Bus 65. From 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. It runs between piazza Abbiategrasso and corso Lodi/via Salmini (Porta Romana M3).
- Bus 67. From 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. It runs between Baggio and piazza Piemonte (Wagner M1). There is no service between piazza Piemonte and piazzale Baracca.
- Bus 68. From 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. In both directions, divert and skip the stops between piazza Vesuvio and via Albani. Alternatively, you can use the M1 between via Albani/via Vigliani (Lotto) and Conciliazione.
- Bus 70. From 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. It operates between the cemetery of Bruzzano and Monumentale. From there it continues to Cenisio. It does not go through Ceresio and viale Montello.
- Bus 73. From 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. It runs between Linate/Peschiera and Piazza 5 Giornate. There is no service between Piazza 5 Giornate and the Duomo terminus.
- Bus 78. From 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. In both directions, it deviates and skips the stops between piazza Caneva and via Silva.
- Bus 84. From 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. It runs between San Donato M3 and Maestri Campionesi. From there it continues to Porta Romana M3.
- Bus 94. From 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. It runs between Cadorna (via Carducci) and via Visconti di Modrone. There is no service between Porta Volta and via Visconti di Modrone.
