The assessment of workshop repair activity in January 2023 is improving compared to the previous year: data from the Autopromotec Observatory

THE early 2023 budget for self-repair reported by the Autopromotec Observatory is positive or stable for most workshops. In January the 22% of car repairers The Italians defined “high» the level of workshop activities carried out, while only 8% define it as “low”. The remaining 70% rated the level of self-healing activities carried out in January as “normal”. This rather positive picture emerges from the Car Service Sentiment Barometer, drawn up by theAutopromotec Observatorythe leading international trade fair for workshop and aftermarket equipment.

AUTOMOTIVE REPAIR ACTIVITY AT THE WORKSHOP IN JANUARY 2023

Based on monthly surveys conducted on a representative sample of auto repair shops the Autopromotec Observatory reports the positive and negative opinions expressed in January by Italian car repairers. From the responses emerges a positive balance (+14%), lower than those recorded in December (+24%) and November (+20%), but much higher than that recorded in January 2022 (negative balance of -11%) and in the other months of last year. The positive trend can therefore be considered as confirmed.

AUTO REPAIR PRICES IN THE WORKSHOP IN JANUARY 2023

The Barometer also examines the situation of workshop pricesThis in January 2023 they kept:

  • normalas indicated by 79% of car repairers;
  • big for 17%;
  • low only for 4%.

FORECASTS OF ACTIVITIES AND PRICES AT THE WORKSHOP IN THE COMING MONTHS

The Autopromotec Observatory also analyzes forecast for the next three/four months. Regarding the self-repair activity:

  • THE 13% of respondents believe that in the spring demand for workshop activity will continue to grow;
  • 4% expect a drop;
  • 83% think there will be stability.

Even the in-store price forecast are in favor of an increase. 17% of car repairers expect prices to rise again between March and April, against only 1% who think they will fall and for 82% prices will remain stable compared to January.
