Autopromotec survey on car repairs in Italy: activity rather stable in the first half of 2023, even if a good 20% of car repairers report an increase
In the first semester 2023 the activity of self-repair in Italy, it was characterized by stability, with a good start to the year, a slight fall in the spring and a return to medium-high levels in the summer. As for the month of only June 2023, 20% of automotive repairers define the level of workshop activity as “high”, while only 6% consider it “low”. As a result, almost three out of four automotive repairers, 74%, agree June a month marked by stability, in line with the first half. This was revealed by the car service sentiment barometer.Autopromotec Observatoryconducted on a representative sample of auto repair shops.
AUTOMOTIVE REPAIR: IN JUNE 2023 GROWING ACTIVITY FOR 20% OF AUTOMOTIVE REPAIRERS
The balance between the positive and negative ratings of garages in june was therefore equal to +14same value recorded in May and higher than those recorded in April (+3) and March (+5), but substantially similar to those recorded in February (+17) and January (+14).
AUTO REPAIR: STABLE PRICES IN THE FIRST HALF OF 2023
The Autopromotec Car Assistance Sentiment Barometer also analyzed factory price level. In June, there were more operators rating it high (16%) than those rating it low (3%), resulting in a positive balance of +13. Prices also held up quite well stable during the first half of 2023: as the graph above shows, for the previous months the trend followed that of the opinions on the activities of the workshops.
AUTOMOTIVE REPAIRERS: PREDICTIONS FOR THE IMMEDIATE FUTURE, 88% BELIEVE IN MORE STABILITY
Finally, the Autopromotec Barometer also focused on scenario for the next 3-4 monthsthat is to say between the end of summer and the beginning of autumn 2023. 17% of car repairers believe that workshop activity will continue to increase in September, compared to only 4% who expect to a decrease (79% therefore expect stability). For prices, 88% of repairers expect stability, 9% an increase and only 3% a decrease.
