Seat has integrated into the Seat Arona and Ibiza with Marina Pack the results of its commitment to implementing sustainable initiatives. The collaboration with Seaqual Initiative to stimulate innovation and the circular economy, while preserving the natural resources of the Mediterranean is reinforced with the creation of car interiors with plastic recovered from trash picked up in the ocean.

SEAT RECOVERS PLASTIC FROM THE OCEANS FOR MORE SUSTAINABLE INTERIORS

Pack Seat Ibiza and Arona Marina are two special editions that use the Seaqual yarn material recycled into seat covers. SEAT IBIZA AND ARONA MARINA PACK: RECYCLED PLASTIC FOR INTERIORS

The collaboration between Seat and Seaqual initiative is oriented towards the preservation of natural resources in the Mediterranean. At the same time, Seat has announced that it is starting a new collaboration with Autoneum and becoming the first car manufacturer to use Borgers Blue Label recycled materials, which – according to the House – will extract more 2 million plastic bottles each year from the ocean. Seaqual Initiative and Label Blue By Borgers work with NGOs, fishermen, local authorities and communities to help clean up the seas and oceans. Marine litter from beaches, oceans and sea beds and surfaces, rivers and estuaries is collected through organized clean-up programs. After selecting the different types of materials, the plastic is cleaned and turned into recycled marine plastic. Subsequently, it is used to create Seaqual Yarn for the seats and blue LABEL of BORGERS, polyester marine fibersfor floors and carpets.

SEAT IBIZA AND ARONA MARINA PACK: PRODUCTION DATE

For the special edition of the Seat Ibiza and Arona Marina Pack which includes Seaqual Yarn seat padding, as well as LABEL blue by BORGERS recycled polyester fibers from marine plastics in floors and carpets, production will begin at from June 2023.
